Gucci and Lady Gaga DIDN'T show of the inimitable Patrizia Reggiani

An emotional support ferret, prison sunbathing, her macaw parrot and a relentless diva attitude... What House Of Gucci and Lady Gaga DIDN'T show of the inimitable Patrizia Reggiani

  • A guard in the women's prison where she served her sentence for hiring a hitman to kill her ex-husband Maurizio Gucci spoke of her untold wild side
  • Patrizia, 72, is played by Lady Gaga in Ridley Scott's House Of Gucci
  • The film reportedly omits many of the wilder elements of the real life Patrizia
  • The insider said of the 'Black Widow' and what was not shown in Scott's epic: 'She was Lady Gucci in prison too. She never let anyone forget who she was'
  • Patrizia Reggiani's story has been brought to life on the big screen in Ridley Scott's House Of Gucci, yet the wildest parts of her life have reportedly been left out.

A guard in the women's prison where she served her sentence for hiring a hitman to kill her ex-husband Maurizio Gucci spoke to The Daily Beast about the untold wild side of the socialite, 72, who is played by Lady Gaga in the film.

The insider said of the 'Black Widow' and what was not shown in Scott's epic: 'She was Lady Gucci in prison too. She never let anyone forget who she was.'

Just one anecdote involved Patrizia entering prison with an emotional support ferret named Bambi in 1997, however the beloved pet was brutally killed after another prisoner sat on it halfway through her run.

During her 18-year sentence for the hit, Patrizia used her 2014 work release parole to preview a collection of bags at Milan Fashion Week under the Gucci name.

Attending the event with her macaw parrot Bo on her shoulder, she had previously said: 'I've never worked a day in my life; I'm certainly not going to start now.'

  • Other insights include the fact that House Of Gucci implies that Maurizio met his lover, model Paola Franchi, at the time of his death during his marriage to Patrizia - however the encounter is thought to have taken place after the couple had split.

Patrizia's accomplice Pina Auriemma, who has been dubbed a 'sorceress' and completed her own prison sentence in 2010 for arranging the murder, said Patrizia is 'a very dangerous woman'.

Patrizia was said to have continued her diva persona into the Milanese lock-up which she dubbed The San Vittore Residence.

Nicknamed The Black Widow, Patrizia was said to have soaked up the sun in the recreational yard during her leisure time 'as if it were a private beach'.

The insiders added that she had adorned her cell with plants, photos and expensive linens and declined work release parole in 2011.

Tragic: A prison guard in the women's wing told The Daily Beast how Patrizia was accompanied by an emotional support ferret named Bambi upon her arrival in 1997, which was brutally killed after another prisoner sat on it halfway through her run (pictured with Maurizio in the 1980s)

  • House Of Gucci follows the grim path of a scorned Patrizia who married into the Gucci empire but was dropped from the iconic fashion family when Maurizio left her for a younger woman.

The cold-blooded murder of the fashion scion in 1995 shocked the world – especially when Patrizia was found guilty of plotting it.

During the murder trial, which transfixed Italy, Reggiani arrived each day wearing head-to-toe Gucci clothes and accessories.

The court heard how she had ordered the murder of her husband after he offered her $650,000 in a divorce settlement.

Adam Driver plays the late Maurizio Gucci's shoes while the movie also stars the likes of Al Pacino, Jared, and fashion designer/auteur Tom Ford.

During a press appearance earlier in the month, the mother-of-one said she would be 'horrified' by another teenager doing the same type of photo shoots she did early in her career.

The acclaimed star has opened up about her first topless shoot when she was just 17, and while she found it 'validating' at the time, she knows she would feel very different now seeing someone go through the same experience.

'I think that I had no sense of what was happening other than that it was validating, and felt really validating for older men who ran a magazine to say, "You're hot,"' she said during the Changes with Annie Macmanus podcast.

'It felt really good to have that. At the time, that's all I focused on. Now looking back, I'm like, "Wow!"' she added.

'I was a child, I actually can visualise that specific picture in my mind and I'm thinking about if I saw a 17-year-old in that way now, I'd be horrified because I can recognise how young I was.

'At the time, it just felt really powerful and cool.

'I think there were things going on under the surface of that that I didn't even realize, was that I was learning to place a lot of value in how desirable I could be to men,' she admitted.

Meanwhile, Emily also talked about her experience during puberty, as she started to develop when she was young and had to deal with conflicting emotions at the same.

She added: 'I think from, like, [age] 10 to 12, I started to feel it at school with other kids, having boobs and under arm hair - it was very scary.

'It both felt exciting because boys paid attention to me but then also they'd make fun of me for having underarm hair.'

Emily noted how her mother let her express herself and 'celebrated' her looks and the way the world saw her.

She said: 'She really was all about letting me dress how I wanted and whatever. I think also she celebrated the way that the world perceived me as pretty and beautiful, which to me says less about her and more about how our world works.

'Of course you'd want your daughter to be attractive because you know that they might have an easier life.'
